I believe this is porcelain berry. It climbs up my trees and smothers them. I have been cutting the vines but it seems an endless struggle. Is there a better way to get rid of this horrible pest?

    Answer

Dear aperrin20, good afternoon. Yes, the plant appears to be Ampelopsis glandulosa (Amur peppervine). This species is difficult to control, but cutting the stems of this liana can go a long way toward limiting its spread. Good luck and best wishes.
