Here's the second grass I'm trying to determine if native, from my yard in Somerville MA on Spring Hill. There seem to be two versions, one where the seed stems come off the grass in an even radial pattern, and another where they seem to come off to one side, and then the next group higher up comes off to the other side.

Dear samgechter, good afternoon. From what I can see, you have photographed a species of Agrostis (bentgrass). These require review of micromorphological characters, making it difficult for me to identify from an image. Based on one of the images, it appears I can see a tall ligule, suggesting Agrostis gigantea (redtop bentgrass) or A. capillaris (Rhode Island bentgrass). To give you a confident answer, I would need a specimen. I hope this is still helpful.
