Adapted from BONAP data
Native: indigenous.
Non-native: introduced (intentionally or unintentionally); has become naturalized.
County documented: documented to exist in the county by evidence (herbarium specimen, photograph). Also covers those considered historical (not seen in 20 years).
State documented: documented to exist in the state, but not documented to a county within the state. Also covers those considered historical (not seen in 20 years).
Note: when native and non-native populations both exist in a county, only native status is shown on the map.

Native to North America?
No
Sometimes confused with
- Myosotis discolor:
- inflorescence occupying about half or less of the total height of the plant, only the lowest 1 or 2 flowers, if any, subtended by leafy bracts, adaxial surface of the leaf blades lacking uncinate hairs, and style often surpassing the mature mericarps (vs. M. stricta, with the inflorescence occupying much of the total height of the plant, the lower flowers scattered among the leaves, adaxial surface of leaf blades at least along the midvein with uncinate hairs, and style surpassed by the mature mericarps).
- Myosotis verna:
- calyx 4-7 mm long, weakly zygomorphic, and petals white (vs. M. stricta, with the calyx 3-5 mm long, actinomorphic, and petals blue or yellow changing to blue).
