Native Plant Trust: Go Botany Discover thousands of New England plants

Sighting: Viola at Uxbridge, Massachusetts

by Serendipity on May 10 2017

Location notes: Growing wild all over the gardens and lawns, one of the earliest flowering plants. The arrive as soon as the snow is gone.

Comments: As soon as the crocus are done, the violets are blooming. They (briefly) become a ground cover on the back lawn. [This is likely Viola sororia and hybrids with that species--admin.]
