Native Plant Trust: Go Botany Discover thousands of New England plants

Sighting: Carya ovata at 42.48, -72.49806

by Cala1 on November 19 2016

Location notes: Found along the road in Leverett, MA among large sugar maple trees.

Comments: The leaves are compound, 5 leaflets, and are opposite. They leaves have teeth. The bark is easy to peel off. [The leaves are alternate, it is the leaflets that are opposite, but note the odd terminal leaflet, indicating it is a compound leaf--admin.]
