Sighting: Castanea dentata at West Pine St, Auburndale MA

Location notes: Near oak tree in the Flowed Meadow Conservation area.

Comments: Woody plant. Deciduous tree in the Beech family with dry fruits. It is a terrestrial plant. It was a young to mature plant for an American Chesnut. Size of the plant was approximately 5 feet in height and 10 feet in length. Brown to grey twig and bark color.
