Native Plant Trust: Go Botany Discover thousands of New England plants

Sighting: rue anemone at West Newbury, MA

by Laura Harley on May 11 2016

Location notes: Along the Merrimack River.

Comments: The flowers are not out yet. I recognize the leaves because rue anemone is very common in Virginia, where I spent many years looking at and seeking wildflowers. Not sure how common rue anemone is in New England, but there are tons of these leaves all along the paved road and walking trail along the Merrimack River.
