Facts

Eastern blue-eyed grass is found in all New England states, where it grows in fields, meadows and the edges of wetlands. It is threatened or endangered in some midwestern states.

Sometimes confused with

Sisyrinchium angustifolium:
stems 2.3-5 mm wide and with a conspicuous wing-margin (vs. S. atlanticum, with stems 0.8-1.9 mm wide and with a narrow wing-margin).
Sisyrinchium fuscatum:
leaf blades persisting as fibrous tufts at base of plant, ovary green, similar in color to foliage, capsule usually light to medium-brown (vs. S. atlanticum, with leaf blades not persisting as fibrous tufts, ovary dark brown to purple-black, in contrast to lighter foliage, and capsule dark brown to purple-black).
