Facts
The flowering stalks of Carolina sea-lavender are often harvested from sheltered intertidal areas or from salt-marshes for making wreaths. Unfortunately, this can deplete populations of this rather slow-growing plant. Salt glands on their leaves permit sea-lavender to withstand saline environments.
