This fern genus has spore-bearing leaves that are similar to its vegetative leaves. The sori have long, narrow, flap-like indusia and grow in the center of the leaf blade along the veins. The scales on the stem have a prominent lattice-like pattern of veins. Reference: Wagner et al. (1993).
