Family: Anacardiaceae — cashew family
Plants in the cashew family are trees, shrubs, or lianas that produce a milky or watery sap (the sap is allergenic in some species). The alternate leaves are usually pinnately compound. The flowers are small, five-merous, actinomorphic (radially symmetrical) and may have either pollen-bearing or ovule-bearing parts, or both. There are 5 stamens inserted beneath a disk around the ovary at the base of the solitary ovary with 3 styles. The fruit is a small seed surrounded by a dry or fleshy covering (i.e., a drupe).
