Probscidea louisianica (P. Mill.) Thellung ssp. fragrans (Lindl.) Bretting was reported from Essex County, MA, by Weatherby (1932). However, the supporting specimen is P. louisianica ssp. louisianica (Sorrie and Somers 1999).
